But I've worked around every single issue. If you see the official forum you'll see all that people are asking for, some for years and still no where in sight. I doesn't have trace, warp and magic fill, and some other important features. I find it very user friendly, irrespective of what people say.Īlls not perfect in ad though. I bought photo and publisher, and they are equally great. Worked on some really illustration heavy files on my basic laptop, it worked perfect. It's just a terrible software, sure I give credit for being free, and worked upon by some passionate talented individuals, but man it's so damn buggy. I don't understand how people even work on inkscape. Never ever looked back on illustrator (and Corel draw) and it was an over night change. Made the switch coz I couldn't afford it. You can do logo design, but i find it challenging compared to Inkscape.īeen using illustrator since the early 2ks. In my opinion, AD isnt so much an AI clone but a vector program for illustrators, with a focus on drawing. Plus Inkscape has a live tracing function.ĪD's advantages over Inkscape are: CMYK, a layer system with one object per layer, easy clipping and masking, Pixel Persona and an interface designed for professional artists. Inkscape's snapping system is in some aspects superior to AD's and i also like the Bezier Tool better. It also has no live trace or a Pathfinder Tool. So no Blend, Warp effects that are vector, no real vector brushes (AD's brushes are bitmaps stretched along a path), no filter, etc. I got into AD because i was fed up with the bugs and limitations of Inkscape, but keep going back, because AD isnt all that perfect.įor example: AD has no effects other than Power Duplicate. And it doesnt appear to be the programmers plan to add more tools in this series. That means, should there ever be a Designer 2.0, you'll have to pay again. The cost is only for one series, as far as i understand it.
